Provide full-time instruction in community counseling, clinical mental health counseling, chemical dependency counseling and psychopharmacology, counselor education and supervision, and counseling psychology at both the masters and doctoral level. Chief executive officer for JACOA with responsibility for the operation of all agency programming and facilities. Responsibilities included treatment services development and implementation for all JACOA programs; fiscal and personnel management; annual budget development; negotiations with grant and funding sources; development and enforcement of standards of patient care and agency management that were in compliance with government regulations and Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) standards; and community relations. As CEO, was directly accountable to the Councils Board of Directors. JACOA was a nonprofit community organization with a staff of 25, and a service area of six counties. JACOA operated outpatient, day treatment, halfway house, employee assistance, residential rehabilitation, social-setting detoxification, and prevention programs. While Administrator, JACOA was awarded the Francis J. Gerty Award for programming excellence by the Division of Alcoholism, Illinois Department of Mental Health.

Community Re-entry Partnership Project. Three-year, $100,000 grant to provide evaluation services to Department of Youth Services substance abuse prevention programs provided through the Toledo-based program Treatment Alternatives to Street Crime. Grant was accepted, but not funded.
De Arce Memorial Endowment Fund Grant (June, 2000) for $6,000. Grant was awarded to provide training and needs assessment services to Washington Local Schools to train school personnel to better service students with severe or persistent mental health issues.
Kohler Faculty Travel Grant (February, 1996) for $1,000 from the Center for International Studies and Programs, The University of Toledo. Grant was awarded to support research oriented travel to Finland and The Netherlands.
Instructional Software Grant (January, 1996) for $2,084.25 from The University of Toledo to purchase psychological test scoring and evaluation software.
Co-principal investigator (Mar, 1992 to Mar, 1993) for a $30,000 grant from the Lucas County Alcohol and Drug Addiction Services (ADAS) Board and the Criminal Justice Coordinating Council (CJCC), Toledo, Ohio. Purpose of the grant was to conduct an analysis of and needs assessment for substance abuse services available to the adult criminal justice population of Lucas County and Toledo, Ohio.
Co-investigator (Jun, 1991-Aug, 1992) for a $45,000 grant from the Lucas County Mental Health Board. This one year grant was awarded to study the effectiveness of the case management system of aftercare services offered by Board funded programs to patients discharged from the Toledo Mental Health Center. The study was designed to identify those variables that could be used to predict recidivism among severely mentally disabled patients.
Operation Storm Shelter: Helping Children Cope with the Gulf War. Received a $200 grant from the Northwest Ohio Association for Counseling and Development to organize and conduct a training workshop for school counselors and school psychologists to help young people cope with and understand the war in the Persian Gulf and Iraq (Jan, 1991).
Principal Investigator (Sep, 1990 to Sep, 1992) for a $200,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Educations Fund for the Improvement of Post-Secondary Education (FIPSE). This two-year grant was awarded to develop centralized drug and alcohol abuse prevention programming on the five campuses of The University of Toledo.
