John M. Laux, PhD

John
Laux received a masters degree in counseling from
West Virginia University and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the
University of Akron.
John is an Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (with supervisory endorsement),
and a Licensed Independent
Chemical Dependency Counselor. His areas of
clinical and research interest include dual-diagnosis, personality disorders,
and personality assessment. He has clinical experience in a variety of treatment
settings including private practice, the Cincinnati VAMC, a community mental health center, a
campus counseling center, and an inpatient chemical dependence treatment center.
Dr. Laux has been published in numerous journals and he currently serves on the editorial board of the Journal of
Counseling & Development and the Journal of Addiction and Offender
